Councilwoman Deborah Owens Wright

Deborah Owens Wright – I am a native of Harlingen, and my family has lived in Palm Valley since 1975. I attended SMU in Dallas, earning a BBA in Marketing; then attended Trinity University earning an MBA. Having worked in banking and financial services since 1984, at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), San Antonio Savings Association, Harlingen National Bank, First National Bank of La Feria, Alamo Bank and Frost Bank; I have weathered many business cycles with a variety of industries. I served on the Boardof Governors of Los Amigos Townhouse Association, in Palm Valley from 1998-2012.

Our city is over 50 years old, and requires ongoing maintenance and improvements to maintain safety and property values. The rapidly changing economy requires an innovative and disciplined approach to sustain city operations. We must work to encourage new families to relocate to Palm Valley by offering a lifestyle that is not available elsewhere in the Valley. As a councilwoman, I will collaborate with our community leaders to set strategic priorities that will improve quality of life and sustain aesthetics within the city.
