George Rivera is a native of San Antonio, TX. Served in the United States Air Force, earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and is currently employed as a Regional Manager for UPS Freight. George’s responsibility at UPS, is managing all segments in Northern Mexico, Texas, and Louisiana.

George and his Wife Sylvia have been calling Palm Valley home since 2009. George has two Daughters Nicole and Alexia, two Grandchildren, Arabella and Eli. George and Sylvia are Members of the Harlingen Country Club where they have met many wonderful friends and neighbors. George, thru the United Way is involved with several Non-Profit/Charitable Organizations in Mexico, Texas, and Louisiana volunteering over 120 hours in 2014.

George sees Palm Valley as an Oasis in South Texas and calls it Paradise. As Mayor, George will focus on maintaining and enhancing our lifestyle and quality of living. As Mayor, George will work diligently to promote and market Palm Valley which will attract more families to our wonderful city. As Mayor, George will work closely with the Harlingen Country Club Board to attract new members and strengthen the financial future of our community. In addition, if elected, one of George’s key plans is continue to develop and support Neighborhood Watch Groups that will assist in keeping our citizens, community, and property safe.
