Originally from McAllen, Julie Martin has lived and worked in the Valley her entire life. In May 1995, she graduated with a BBA in Marketing from The University of Texas Pan American. During college, she taught private piano lessons to support herself financially. Upon graduation, Toys ‘R’ Us placed her in a managerial position at their McAllen store. Soon, she became the Assistant Store Director in Brownsville and shortly thereafter, was offered the Store Director position in McAllen. In 1998, she established Valley Abstract & Trustee Services. As an independent real property abstractor, she is contracted by various attorney firms and corporations to conduct specific research of properties. Additionally, she acts as Agent and Trustee as needed in industry specific situations. Through hard work and determination, she has successfully built her business up with a reputation for being reliable and professional.
Julie met her husband, Keith, in college while both attending the Business School. They married in 1995 and have been blessed with two sons, Blake and Codie. Keith has been a Financial Consultant with Card Investment Group in Harlingen for over 17 years and served several years on Palm Valley’s Building & Permit Committee.
The family remains active in their congregation at St. Paul. Julie is a former school board member of the affiliated private school, St. Paul Academy. She served in positions of secretary and co-chairmen during her term. Additionally, she and her husband have spearheaded a couple of programs over the years. Through determination and commitment, they raised needed funds for projects at the campus.
Julie has served on the Council since May 2013. She plans to continue giving back to the community she and her family have enjoyed over the years. Her civic priorities include ensuring the security of Palm Valley remains a top priority, that the fiscal wellbeing of the city is maintained and that property improvement efforts are continued.
